On March 24, 2026, the “Moving Toward a Smart Manufacturing Future—Seminar on the Construction of Digital Factories in the Rubber and Plastics Industry,” hosted by Dalian Bohai Rubber & Plastics Co., Ltd., was successfully held at the company’s headquarters. The seminar aimed to conduct an in-depth exploration of how the rubber and plastics industry can leverage digital technologies to achieve transformation and upgrading in the wake of the Industry 4.0 wave, attracting more than 50 participants, including technical experts from the industry, representatives of partner organizations, and members of the company’s core management and technical teams.

The topics covered cutting-edge issues such as “The Implementation of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) in Process Industries,” “Predictive Maintenance for Rubber and Plastics Equipment Based on the Internet of Things,” “The Application of Digital Twin Technology in Process Optimization,” and “Data-Driven Quality Control and Energy Consumption Management.” Each presentation drew on numerous real-world case studies to provide a clear and insightful analysis of the value of digital technologies and the challenges associated with their practical application.
During the interactive discussion session following the thematic presentation, participants engaged in lively and pragmatic exchanges on practical issues such as data integration standards, retrofitting of legacy equipment, initial investment versus return, and the development of multidisciplinary talent. Technical leaders from Bohai Company also shared their experiences and insights from piloting digitalization in specific process segments, fostering a vibrant on-site dialogue characterized by continuous intellectual exchange.
